Calculate Calories & Macros for Common Foods

This tool covers 300 common foods spanning fresh produce, dairy, grains, legumes, meats, eggs, nuts, Indian staples and more. Pick a food, choose a quantity — by weight, volume, pieces or an official serving — and the calculator instantly returns calories, protein, carbs and fat for that exact portion.

You can also combine up to 4 foods in one calculation, so a snack, mixed plate or meal gives you one combined nutrition total instead of several separate lookups. Values are shown per 100 g as well as for your chosen portion, and can be converted between metric and imperial units.

Once you know what a meal contains, use the Calorie Calculator to set a daily calorie target that fits your weight goals, or the Macro Calculator to split those calories into protein, carbs and fat for your body type and activity level.

Why Nutrition Values Can Vary

Nutrition figures in this calculator are sourced from authoritative reference databases, including USDA FoodData Central, India's ICMR-NIN IFCT 2017 and the UK CoFID tables. Each food entry uses the most appropriate reference source for that item.

Even so, the same food can differ slightly between samples. Growing conditions, ripeness, brand, cooking method and preparation all change the final nutrient content, and standard reference values cannot capture every variation. For this reason, treat the numbers as accurate, dependable estimates for everyday tracking rather than laboratory-precise measurements — they are more than precise enough to guide portion sizes and daily calorie totals.

Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs >
How many calories are in a food?

Search any of the 300 foods in the database to see its calories per 100 g or per serving. Enter a custom weight, volume, piece count or serving size and the calculator instantly scales the value to the exact amount you plan to eat.

How does the calculator work out total calories?

Each food has verified nutrition values per 100 g or 100 ml from authoritative reference data. When you set a portion, the calculator scales those values proportionally and sums them across up to 4 selected foods to show the total calories and macros for your meal.

Are Indian foods included?

Yes. The database includes everyday Indian staples such as paneer, roti/chapati, dahi, lentils and dals, poha, idli, dosa and chaas, using appropriate authoritative references including ICMR-NIN IFCT and USDA FoodData Central.

Are calories shown per serving or per 100 g?

Both. Foods display values on a standard reference basis of 100 g or 100 ml, and you can switch to an official serving size, a piece count, or any custom weight you enter.

Which foods are high in calories?

The most calorie-dense foods are oils, nuts and seeds, butter, cheese, fatty meats and sugar-sweetened items, which pack many calories into a small portion. Use the calculator to compare foods side by side and see which add the most calories per gram.

Can I combine multiple foods?

Yes. You can add up to 4 foods to a single calculation to get a combined total of calories, protein, carbs and fat — useful for snacks, mixed plates or meals.

Does the calculator show protein, carbs and fat?

Yes. The calculator shows calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat for each food, along with additional nutrients such as fiber, sugars, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium where authoritative source data is available. Some nutrients may be unavailable for certain foods. % Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.

How accurate are the calorie values?

Values come from authoritative reference databases including USDA FoodData Central, ICMR-NIN IFCT and UK CoFID. Real foods vary with variety, ripeness and cooking method, so treat the results as accurate, helpful estimates rather than laboratory-precise measurements.
